After a lot of thought I decided to take the videos down off of Youtube. I’ve been getting some negative responses from some users and the comments section to me had become out of control. Quite frankly, I find a lot of what people say on You Tube about People’s Temple ignorant and disgusting. This not only goes for the comments on my videos, I see it other places on Youtube as well. I refused to block comments, because I don’t like to squelch free speech, but I also didn’t want to give “trolls” a place to come and try to hurt people.

The tapes of course are still available on AltCon for two dollars a piece. I’m making the digital audio available on Ebay for anyone who might be interested.

I know many of you enjoyed these tapes, so I hope you all understand where I’m coming from with this.

I for one listened to them everyday, this comes as a major blow to me personally. Just hurry and post the ebay listing I guess so i can buy them from you. But why Ebay? Are you wanting to start a bidding war or are you going to offer multiple buys?

yes i think your reasons for removing them are perfectly understandable..
they are not mainstream listening and therefore the abuse is to be expected..
i can put myself in your shoes and would say that its no fun receiving comments
like that to your account (regardless of content)...
i am however interested in buying them...
like personal day to day pop music to me too Shocked

multiple copies would be great ....

I REALLY wish you would have said something to someone here first b4 taking down the vids.....

But man, what a loss!!!!
the thing is, I dont think it would have been a bad thing to block comments. Records never came with a place for you to write your profane laden rant about how much you hate the new judas priest album.....it got put it out there....if you liked it, then good. If you didnt, too bad.
I looked at it as just a way to add to the effort of making this kind of information MORE READILY AVAILABLE....sure, you can get it other places and ways.......but YT was free (not for John, unfortunately....who was paying for the tapes).....and YT is frequently searched for this kind of stuff....
I took my Q875 vids down, but fortunately I had the other back up website where I posted the audio.....

I just feel like a real opportunity may have been lost......a couple jerks trolled and filled your inbox with bs comments and that sucks.....but man I wish we could have done something else.........

Anyone interested in getting the tapes simply needs to read the ANNOUNCEMENT in the TAPES forum about where you get them.

Another problem with all of this is that I found this web site through a link on the YT tapes. I can understand wanting to make a little money off your efforts, but a warning to us forum memebers would have been nice.

I am still waiting on my PM with info to buy them from you, once I get them I will upload them as mp3 so we all can have them and not even have to deal with YT.

I agree with Joey. It is important to get the information out there and let people make their own minds up about what they hear. But it is of course your decision. Personally I wouldn't have hesitated to shut down the comments-section. I don't consider that quelching free speech, because people can speak freely about it all they want just not exactly at your youtube-video-page. Also I find it ironic that you yourself have been quelched by free speech....
I hope that you will reconsider at some point, but a big thanks for your effort so far!!

May I ask why you don't merge your audio-collection with that of Alt. Cons. website? Are they working in a different format? Another quality? Would be awfully altruistic of you to make your hard work available to others who try to educate themselves within the subject of PT. You could still sell copies on e-Bay.
